ตั้งอยู่ที่กรุงปักกิ่ง ประเทศจีน หรือรู้จักในนามของ Beida ก่อตั้งในเดือนธันวาคม ปี 1898 เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งชาติของจีนนับตั้งแต่ยุคประวัติศาสตร์สมัยใหม่ มีนักศึกษารวมประมาณต่างชาติประมาณ 30,000 คน โดยในจำนวนนี้เป็นชาวต่างชาติประมาณ 4,000 คน จาก 80 ประเทศทั่วโลก มหาวิทยาลัยมีจุดเด่นด้านการทำวิจัยและมีหอสมุดที่ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นหอสมุดมหาวิทยาลัยที่ใหญ่ที่สุดในทวีปเอเชีย มีหนังสือกว่า 6 ล้านเล่ม นอกจากนี้ศิษย์เก่าจากสถาบันนั้นยังประสบความสำเร็จเป็นนักคิดชื่อดังของจีนมากมาย เช่น เหมาเจ๋อตุง และในปี 2010ได้ถูกจัดอันดับให้เป็นมหาวิทยาลัยที่ดีที่สุดอันดับ 6 ของโลก
